I'm out here in the SF Bay area and I look at that jobs list everyday. They change the contact email address frequently (the only contact info provided, strange in itself for a job poster) and place it in nearly ALL the job categories with vaguely appropriate job qualifications for high pay (another tip-off). If you respond to the address, you get the same form letter for every category saying "sorry, position filled, but here's another opportunity you should check out," or words to that affect.
Then there is an obvious (to some) scam letter in the body of the email offering ridiculous $$ to set up a "package forwarding" operation for some bogus German, in this case, company. It goes on to prompt you to set up accounts and email addresses to be forwarded to them, another red-flag. Anyway, craigslist is either unable or unwilling to do anything about this, and it is turning their job site into a not very funny joke.
I just wanted to know if folks have seen this garbage in other areas. Asked by maggo 38 months ago Similar questions: spam scam run craigslist jobs German package forwarding job Computers > Internet.

Probably a check-drop scam. Generally, these work that the 'german' company will send you US cashier's checks to cash and then have you send them the money via western union. The scam: the checks are fake, but take weeks to finally clear and bounce. So you end up on the hook for the balance from your bank.
Stay far far away. The most you can do is get a nice collection of fake checks to hang on your wall..
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
