I wasn't aware that he was on Twitter with a verified account until I saw this question :-) I did decide to follow him ... I tend to be interested to follow people I view as visionaries and innovators in the areas of the internet and new technologies. It's fun to get a little glimpse into how their minds work via Twitter, and to find out what they're working on, what they're interested in, and where they think this crazy world is heading. Though Bill Gates is a stranger, I realize him to be someone who has significantly shaped the world I live in.
I'm interested to find out what he's going to do next. His opening tweets suggest he started the account to raise awareness about his Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and some of the issues the foundation is working to address. I'd be disappointed if that's ALL he talked about on Twitter, but this new focus for him does interest me ... mainly to see him at this point in his life kinda reinventing himself and sharing that process.
The website he linked from his Twitter, thegatesnotes.com, has some enlightening entries and I'm looking forward to him posting a Tweet to remind followers when he updates that site.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
