Similar questions: dispute Christianity monotheistic religion.
Can't say about "dispute," but it was early on accused of being a paganism. Why Mormonism is not Christianity is that the former teaches that the "Father, Son, and Holy Spirit" are three separate gods, besides all the other gods they say are running around this universe, while the latter says there is only one God, but that one God exists as three persons (and no, it's not a matter of swapping hats on occasion. ) The irony is that, while Christianity presents the same God as Judaism (see Deuteronomy 6), both of which insist that there is only one God, Islam never has that problem while its "one god" was merely the moon god plucked off the Arabic pantheon and exalted at the expense of the others. My point is that Islam says their Allah is the only god now while Judaism and Christanity says Yahweh is the only God ever.
So which is more "monotheistic"? .
Yeah, the other religions didn't like it, so Christianity added God the son and God the Holy Ghost! .

3 The Trinity has caused some to question whether Christians worship one God or 3 deities. Some Christian denominations employ icons and statues drawing into question the difference between those practices and idol worship. Islam probably is monotheism in its purest form.
Having said this, I consider Judaism, Christianity and Islam to be monotheistic.
