Unusual question. Yes I did. I loved birds all my life, I used to keep parakeets and finches.
But, at one point in my life, our financial state was really tight, and I couldn't afford themSo, I trapped some feral pigeons in our neighbourhood, fed them right, and cleaned them right up. They were great "pets", and some became lunch too. I never worried about desease, because if you know what is what, it's safe enough.
That was a L O N G time ago, though.
I had a pair of pigeons lose their way once on a race and they ended up on the roof of our barn. On advice, we left then some seeds out to feed on and expected them to be gone in the morning. They were still on the roof when I opened the door the next morning, but the seeds on the ground were gone!
This went on for 2 weeks....then one morning I looked out and they were gone. I was sad and that surprised me. It taught me that sometimes even the most transient of relationships can touch us.
I had not thought of my two pigeons for a while so thank you for the question.
Haha! No I have never had a pigeon as a pet. I do not think I ever would because they carry diseases.
No, but I would if they didn't carry diseases. They so cute, fluffy, and adorable! Plus, they look so stupid you can't help but go awwww.
A story I read about :Carrier Pigeon: W.W.1- 1918 Cher Ami was awarded the high military honor - War Cross. In a battle Cher had to get a message to headquarter, Cher was shot in breast bone and almost severed the leg...but he got the message to headquarter. From the Book: Battle Cries James InglisCarrier Pigeon have bee used in war since Romam times for messages...they can only travel "home' in one derection.
Carrier Pigeons were widely used by both sides in W.W. 1. I do not have a pet pigeon but I think it would be great to have one. Carrier Pigeon or computer....:-).
Here in bg we , most of the people are living in big , old-fashion apartments (a heritage of the communism) and on the ceiling there is around a meter distance to the roof . In that distance there is a pigeons paradise . We have lots of them and I can tell you the filling is great .
That's wonderful bird . I really enjoy watching them :).
No, I see them everywhere and I've read that they carry a number of diseases as they eat anything and everything. I wouldn't mind an eagle though but I've read they cost a lot to look after and maintain.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
