Yes, I used to have recurring dreams, 2 were exact each time. In one I'm driving a windy mountain road, there is a drop off on the right side, when I come to a curve I drive over the edge. The other is I'm standing at the entrance to a tunnel, inside a building and at the far end of the tunnel is a spinning spiral, I'm drawn into the tunnel and keep walking towards that spinning spiral, I never make it, I always woke up before getting to the end.

I have not had the same exact dream, but I have had dreams with similar themes and several serial dreams, both types that had occurred for decades or scores of years. It has been some years since I have had either of these types. The similar theme dreams involve being in a large hotel where I am trying to find my room and have difficulties with elevators not working properly.

Also these dreams often involve needing to find a toilet, but what I find are too filthy to use. When I was younger, between twenty and thirty years of age, I had dreams of being chased by my elementary and high school peers in dilapidated multi storied school buildings whose passage ways became increasingly difficult to get around in, with rickety floors and stairs. These often ended with my bounding down stairwells leaping from landing to landing until reaching the outside where I was able to jump up and "swim" through the air making my escape.

This experience was exhilarating. One serial dream I had, years after graduating college, involved my returning to college and living in a large old home that in the dream I owned. It had many secret passages and hidden rooms that I had constructed. As the dreams proceeded over the years the structure became more complex, connected with adjacent abandoned houses, and increasingly cluttered and deteriorated.

A same theme dream that occasionally still occurs involves driving on roads or streets that become increasingly difficult to traverse, often requiring cartoon-like actions to maintain control. These dreams, like the hotel dreams, had me constantly being thwarted from reaching my destination.

Why we dream remains a mystery. However when dreaming is prevented temporary psychoses occur. The best explanation, though vague, that psychological science offers is that while sleeping maintenance of connections between areas of the brain ensues.

Some scientists say that this activity is experienced in the forebrain. However, there are other scientific opinions. See en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dream#The_Neurobio... org/wiki/Dream#The_Neurobiology_of_dreaming.

Well, I have never had a rerun; if that's what you are talking about - but I have definitely had a running series a few times.

For several years I had a recurring dream that I 'fell' out of an airplane while it was upside down. In later dreams I was taking photographs of the plane as it got smaller.. I can still picture the visual scene of the AT-6 with an open canopy getting smaller..

Wild and sounds a bit scary. Thanks for the reply. Squeeky-changes-suck 6 months ago .

I have a couple different reoccuring dreams that I always wake up to at the same moment. Unfortunately they're scary dreams. I wish they were the fun dreams like flying dreams or riding a dolphin dream.

I had a recurring dream over a two-and-a-half-year period. Finally... it happened in real life. My account of this was published in People's Almanac #3... page 677.

I have had a few other recurring dreams over the years, but no other ones that may have saved my life.

Not the exact. There are always differences but same scenarios and even in the same places as before. What I find to be strange is waking from the dream and then going right back into it.

A continuation of it.

I've had a few dreams twice. But rarely more than twice.

Yep. I'm in a car... Not driving it and we are on a mountain on a bridge. Suddenly for some reason the car swerves off and I wake up before we hit the bottom of darkness...Pretty scary.

When I was a kid I'd wake up gasping and my heart would be racing.

WOW,that does sound scary. Squeeky-changes-suck 6 months ago .

You know.. I've had multiple recurring dreams. Nothing "specific" - more just fantastical dreams that aren't really relevant to real life. I've also had dreams "continue" from previous dreams.

Kinda interesting. :) .

I have never had a recurring type dream that I can remember. And dream that continue on do sound kinda neat. Thanks for the reply.

You're welcome. :) And maybe you have had these dreams but just don't remember them - there are supposed to be "techniques" you can practice to remember your dreams... I bet you could look into these and try. Never know what you find in your subconscious.

;) .

My subconscious only has about 3 things in it,big trucks, naughty pictures of Mrs Squeeky, and pizza,LOL Squeeky-changes-suck 6 months ago .

That's really all it needs! :) Although I'd recommend re-organizing so Mrs Squeeky is listed first. :) :) :) *cracking up* And pizza... mmm....

I'm sorry you are totally right should have listed Mrs Squeeky first. LOL Squeeky-changes-suck 6 months ago .

Yes, for over a year I woke up while dreaming the same dream almost every morning. I couldn't remember all the exact details but it was virtually the same dream. It wasn't a "bad" dream.

I've never found out why I did that.

Weird, but glad it wasn't a bad dream. Thanks for the reply. Squeeky-changes-suck 5 months ago .

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
