From my point of view, the USA (where I assume you live) is a third world country that can't even take care of its own people. You can't get hospital treatment unless you have money. You have hardly any income protection when you get fired from your job.
Crime rates are ridiculous in the cities. Nowhere in the world more energy is used per capita than in the USA. No country in the world has a bigger carbon footprint per capita than the USA.
Every second household in the USA has one or more guns. There is no real democracy in the USA (because the two political parties that usually form government are both ran by money instead of by ideology)... Communism as the Sovjet Union tried it, doesn't work. Neither does the Chinese version of it.
But socialism is not communism. Socialism just says that an individual is always part of a greater, social environment and that solidarity within this environment is the most basic democratic principle. Most of the plus points you mention are actually the result of socialist politics, not of capitalist politics.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
