Hun shame about the g be issue it runs strong with my family to have gb issues still unfortunately we usally are to blame for many gb problems and diet has alot to do with it my mom loves sweets they told her that caused much of her gb stones. Which I believe is actual fact since that type gives me gb attacks 80% but stay with a common sense diet then you will be less likely to have issues plus do not eat to many high fat food products they can cause the problems in beginning this is more difficult depending how much a big sweet eator lover each person is different I assume it is possibly a favorite item based only because of your gb issues I could be wrong stay away from pie crust throws me pain that is always unbearable no matter how good before attack is soon to come ther are positives tho all the healthy fruit juices ect makes other things better is funny how a few healthy diet choices do other aspects of heath more energy then you feel /look better not to mention energy seems to soon follow have a silly recomendation that you may try I love caprisuns 100% juice is a yummy flavor tastes good makes thirst instanly disapear I never could digest some juices have to much acid but caprisuns fruit dive has a good effect seems like I had my entire body replenished with hydration plus it is equalivlent to 3 servings healthy fruit in each pouch plus tastes yummy and it is clear no dies or artificial colors never could digest red dies they should no be used plus minute maid clear cherry it is not all made naturally like the other but it is still better than soda or fatty milks uses if any sodas should be clear 7-up is best others have more acid that can cause it to come back still usually a persons body will tell them they are eating healthy with gb issues like you have that would be bad because your body has already told you there is problems but if anything comes back up bubbles clear to your throat that is not something you should eat again try to stay with the healthy choices make useful decisions.

6 years ago I was diagnosed with gallstones and am still awaiting the operation. In the meantime I have had to keep to a very boring low fat diet. I have to read the labels on all foods, which is a pain, but on the other hand can be very useful with determining not only the fat content of foods but also salt and sugar, too much of which is also not healthy.

I am now an avid label reader, and although reading labels is not very exciting it does tell you what you are eating. Before my diagnosis I never thought to read labels but now, when I see the fat content of foods it horrifies me - some ready meals are 50% or more fat! I'm now into miso soup and soba noodles, chick peas and bulgar wheat, tofu and quinoa - delicious and satisfying and very low fat.

But my favourite is turkey dripping on toast, can't eat the dripping but can eat the jelly underneath which has the best flavour. Someday I'll get my op, and then I can eat what I want.

Stay away from greasy and spiced foods. In a few months you will be able to eat just about anything you want.

A proper diet after gallbladder surgery is necessary to avoid any more problems. Learn about foods to include in Gall Bladder Diet recipes. The gallbladder is a small, pear shaped sac-like organ that is located below the liver.

Its main function is to store bile that is produced in the liver and release them for digestive purposes. The bile is released when food containing fat enters the digestive tract and consequently stimulates the secretion of cholecystokinin (CCK). Gallbladder stones are a gallbladder disease which is characterized by the formation and deposition of small pebble like substances within the gallbladder or in the biliary tract.

While carrying out its normal function the gallbladder contracts and pushes bile into a tube called the common bile duct that finds its way into the small intestine for digestion. Bile consists of water, cholesterol, fats, bile salts, proteins and bilirubin. When the concentrations of cholesterol, bile salts or bilirubin increases they eventually harden forming gallstones.

In the event of severe gallstones condition a procedure called cholecystectomy is performed to completely remove the organ. Other nonsurgical approaches are also prevalent in not so severe cases where drugs made up of bile acids are orally given to dissolve the stones. Fortunately the gallbladder is a nonessential organ whose elimination from the body does not cause any major adverse effects.

The liver produces enough bile to digest the food wherein bile flows through the hepatic ducts into the common bile duct and ends up in the small intestines. However, post surgery there are chances of slight discomfort in digestion of food. This is due to certain abnormalities in dissolution and emulsification of fats in the foods.

Faulty foods containing high fat consumed post surgery may lead to diarrhea and puffiness in the region. Foods that contain high fat or acid content are to be completely avoided. For a certain period of time foods like red meat, pork, dairy products, eggs, fried foods, spicy foods, whole grain breads, cereals, seeds, nuts, baked beans, broccoli, cabbage, brussels sprouts, cauliflower, peanuts, pastries, butter are to be kept away from the patient’s menu.

Amongst drinks fruit juices except those of apples and grapes, caffeinated drinks, alcoholic and carbonated beverages are to be avoided. This also includes decaffeinated tea and coffee. One must include foods that enhance the proper functioning of the biliary and the digestive system.

Fiber rich foods like lettuce and grains are highly recommended. Vitamin rich foods that are available in the form of fruits and vegetables such as beetroot, tomato, cucumber, avocado, grapes and carrots are to be incorporated in the post gallstone surgery diet. Flax-seed oil and fishes like salmon have also been studied for their beneficial effects in such patients due to its omega-3 fatty acid content.

Amongst others the diet may also involve lean meat, skinned fish and chicken, egg whites, skimmed milk, low fat cheese, yogurts and spreads, soups, salads, grilled fish and chicken and legumes. Thus it is essential to maintain a low carbohydrate and high protein diet after gallstones surgery. Lesser use of cooking oil than the usual while cooking meats is advised.

Also a post surgery patient must consume six smaller meals rather than three larger ones to assist easy digestion. In fact, as soon as the surgery is done with, the patient is put on a liquid diet in most cases.
