I have been a Type 2 diabetic for the last 10 years. For many years I very loosely interpreted an eating program but the longer you are diabetic you know that eventually you will end up on insulin and have complications unless you maintain a normal weight and normal sugars. So in this past month I have been following the Zone Diet eating program by Dr, Barry Sears.

S entire program is one of eating in balance, and thereby keeping insulin levels stable. When followed you do not have any hungry horrors and my blood sugars have never been better. Check the program out, it has been around for 10 years. It consists of making the 3 meals and 2 snacks each daythe right combination of low-fat protein and the appropriate type of carbohydrate ( pref.

Veg. And fruits ) with a dash of good fats like olive oil or nuts. Carbohydrates such as bread, potatoes, or pasta are not eaten on a regular basis and then to be thought of more as condiments than a large portion of any meal.

And satisfying. A typical breakfast would be 6 egg whites scrambled with olive oil, 1oz. Of canadian bacon and fruit; lunch would be a chef’s salad with greens, 1/2c, chick peas,1.2c.

Celery,1/2c sl. Mushrooms, 3oz deli-turkey,1and1/2oz deli-ham,1 oz swiss cheese and I include a packet of balsamic vinegrette drsng. Plus a fruit, snack mid.

Afternoon is a string cheese and a wasa cracker, dinner is 4oz meat, 2cups of a veg, and fruit then there is a before bed snack such as a hard boided egg with hummus replacing the yolk and a wasa cracker. Check out recipes on his web-site. I’ve just tried to give an example of a typical day.

Eating this way will teach healthy eating , proper portion control and keep the diabetes under control. Lunch and dinner should be one third of the plate as protein ( 4oz) and two-thirds vegetables. It is more expensive to eat this way but time lost on the job due to sickness or diabetes complications puts it into perspective. I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
