HELP! Is it possible to buy an iPhone and use it like an iPod touch? Or do I HAVE to buy a contract? Does anyone know?

I'm pretty sure iPod Touches are cheaper then iPhones, though if you already have the iPhone I'm pretty sure you can just use it like and iPod if you want because I had an enV that I just used as an MP3 player, you only really need the plan if you want to call or text. But if you don't get the plan then you have to get a USB cord and put music on it directly off your computer, because part of being able to use it as a phone is being able to download out of the ap store.

Why would you want to do that. Ipod touch is the same as iphone except for the phone part. You can have the same apps as in iphone.So go and buy a ipod touch.

I'm sure you can buy the phone without contract, just expect the price to be very VERY high. I think you will have to buy the phone from someone on ebay or craigslist or something because AT&T will most likely not sell you just the phone without a contract. I am unsure if you can walk into an Apple Store and just buy the phone itself but if you can expect, for example, a new iPhone 3GS to cost upwards of $600.

Are you planning on using the iPhone as a GO phone (pay as you go) or are you just wanting to use it solely as an iPod Touch? Because if you aren't going to use the phone it's not really worth getting the iPhone when the iTouch can do all you need.... Let me know what you're intended use of the iPhone is, don't want you spending more than you have to :-).

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
