I have't heard of any charity accepting donations to help the Iranins. I found this website:" gr88.tumblr.com/" They are asking this " HOW NON-IRANIANS CAN HELP: TWITTER - Change your location and time zone on Twitter to Tehran, Iran (that’s GMT+3:30). - Change your profile icon to green in some way.
- Set up a proxy and send a DM to @ProtesterHelp. - DO NOT retweet posts verbatim from Iran. This puts the users at risk.
The Iranian Minstry of the Interior is watching Twitter closely now. Don’t use names and reword the post. - Submit e-mails to CNN, MSNBC, Fox and other news sources about the Iranian Revolution; demand more coverage.
- DO NOT DDOS (PageReload) Iranian government websites. It slows all Iranian traffic, doing more harm than good in this information war. " I have found the website for Red crescent society of The Islamic Republic of Iran Address the Islamic Republic of Iran No 1362 Valiasr Avenue Building of Peace 1517813511 Tehran Contact Information Tel: (98) (21)886 626 18/9 Fax: (98) (21) 8820 1052 Telex: 224259 RCIA-IR Telegram: CROISSANT-ROUGE TEHERAN E-Mail: [email protected] Web: http://www.rcs.ir I am not sure they are doing anything to help this particular situation.
But if you need you can contact and ask them.
I was wondering this as well. I think a good one to start with is the Red Cross. Another one may be Doctors Without Borders.
These are two groups that I imagine could help out in Iran, though I would like to see more direct methods. Good question.
Those two groups do not currently work within the country. My friend is Iranian and has family there and so far we have found no way of donating funds to them and their cause. In addition, the country is screening all bank transfers right now so be careful of that.
Unfortunately it doesn't seem like there is a way right now. They are shutting down all possible outside help.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
