Find a number on that chip and we'll talk I say it's not worth it. If the engine compartment in my car caught fire and I put it out... I wouldnt just repaint the hood and keep driving it around. Something is wrong with the device, and unless you can isolate what made it burn out, or derive it from what function the chip performed, you basically have a battery powered fire hazard hanging around, even if you swapped the chip.

Buy a cheap speaker set from walmart at 1/4 the price, then hack it's plugs to work with your device of choice instead.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
