Hi! I read a book but I forgot the title and author. Help?

I read a book but I forgot the title and author. Help! Story of a young poor British man who goes to a school with rich boys.

He gets kicked out. He loves old books. Later when his mother dies he learns that she was not really his mother.

He is in fact the son of very wealthy parents. S real mother has passed. He wants to have a relationship with his father but he is afraid the man won't believe him that he is the son.
