I have to tell you that its very rare that your first ever painting is going to be purchased unless it's by a relative. I notice you posted 15 hours ago as I write but still have not put up an image of the work or finished typing your question using the DETAILS option in blue. You need to do that.

Even a PRODIGY has to learn how to draw, methods and techniques, what materials to purchase and where. Have you studied and where? You might want to keep that first painting and compare future works to it.It's always fun to look at back at our earlier work and see the progress.

Otherwise, try eBay or join an online art community. artquorum.com/http://www.artandartistry.... a very generalized:http://wetcanvas. ComNobody can guess what it's worth since you have no creative history yet, no sales history and we haven't even seen the painting.

Congrats on completing your first painting, Anna! Pretty exciting! Pricing a painting, however, is not easy.

There are many variables to consider. Quality, of course is one--are you good? Do you get a lot of nice comments on your work, and are people commenting on this painting that they really like it?

But even the greatest painting in the world isn't always fully appreciated--sometimes it's who you are, who you know, and where you are selling it. A painting being sold in New York or Miami is going to go for more than a painting being sold in Small Town, USA. Selling your work on your own is different than selling it in a gallery or shop--someone else is going to get a cut of the money in the second situation .

If you are justs starting out, check out other paintings for sale in your area. See what they are being sold for. Talk to other local artists for advice.

And remember--you're just starting out and as you get more well known you can ask more for your paintings. Think about what is the bare minimum you can accept for your painting without it being painful, and go from there. I'm one who starts kind of low, and then increases my prices as I see how people like my work!

Watch how fast things sell--if they go fast--you aren't charging enough! .

Does anyone know about this painting, it a oil painting http:// URL1 mages/718/ohd396. Hi:) My name is Anna. I just finished my first acrylic painting & I am wondering how much I should price.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
