All so called holy books can be twisted to suit any purpose, that's why people pretend to believe what they think the books' say. The Brothers Grimm are ,however, more entertaining, and ultimately as factual.
Only extremists would read any holy book in that sense, when they should be read in a metaphorical, literal & spiritual sense, and in doing so knowing which of these senses they need to apply at the time. The Bible no doubt could be ready in an extreme sense, especially the OT, but one also has to take in context the wars & struggles of the time. I would say that many people do not really understand so then confusion starts.
If we respected each others holy books then maybe there would be more 'bridge building' between the different faiths.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
