Homeless Shelters near Washington DC?

Nope, the ones you are seeing are true and you won't find cheaper. My friend lives on the very last metro stop in Fairfax, Virginia- takes the subway about 45 minutes to downtown DC and her 2 bedroom apartment is $2,000 (she has a roommate). Even a 1 bedroom in her area is $1200.

I have other friends I've visited in Bethesda, Maryland who are also on the metro line and they pay more than that, plus $200 a month for a parking space at their own apartment! I had a job interview in downtown DC and it was a nightmare to get to, walking to the subway, changing 3 subway trains, then walking to the job location took 45 minutes and my friend said had she driven me, it would have been an hour! It's a great city and I love it, but I'm glad I didn't get the job offer!

My mortgage costs less than that here in Massachusetts!

Unfortunately, you will end up paying that much to live anywhere in the DC area (unless you live a lot more then 30-40 minutes outside of Washington). Of course, salaries in the Washington DC area are higher than the rest of the country and the job market is relatively good, but housing is among the most expensive - nearly as expensive as NYC and California. You might consider sharing an apartment or something, which will lower your housing costs considerably.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
