Some of these numbers (along with the cites) will help people understand...but not the YA Cons, they are in denial In spite of everything the GOP does to undermine this Country's economic growth, the American People are still forging on! New home sales up 2.7% in the last quarter of 2009. http://money.cnn.com/2008/10/27/real_est... The GDP increased by 5.7% in the last quarter of 2009.
http://www.bea.gov/newsreleases/national... New home construction went up 8/9% in that same quarter. http://money.cnn.com/data/markets/dow The Dow recovered from a 150 point dive this morning to climb up for an overall gain. http://money.cnn.com/data/markets/dow And my favorite one of all.... Unemployment took an unexpected drop of .3%, down to 9.7%.
A drop in double digit unemployment was not expected for at least another quarter. http://www.bls.gov/news.release/empsit.n….
97% of statistics are made up on the spot. Housing is up, but it couldn't have gone much lower, and as for the Dow, it hit it's record high of over 14k when Bush was in office. GDP growth, I doubt it.
And 10% of Americans are out of work. Your job loss statistics aren't helping any of them. The recession is not over until unemployment drops below 5%.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
