How accurate is the over-the-counter gender prediction test kit that allows you to determine the sex of your baby?

It is my understanding that these gender predictor test are an at home blood test. You collect the blood after the indicated time frame (at least 7 weeks from conception). You then send it to a lab, along with a very expensive fee as you can see from the box.

Then they lab will analyze the blood sample using DNA testing to determine if the baby is a boy or a girl. From the review I read about a particular brand ( I am not sure if there is more than one), the Baby Gender Mentor Home DNA Testing Kit has claims that they test is 80 to 90% more accurate than an ultrasound. The article went on to say that if it is wrong, you can send in a birth certificate to get a refund of the test and lab fee if you received false results.

I guess you really can't go wrong with it. However, if most people are like me, they have wait for their insurance to pay for an ultrasound because they can't afford 200 to 300 bucks.

I have researched a gender pregnancy test called the Pink or Blue Early Gender Test which sounds like the one you were describing. It states that you are eligible to collect the DNA specimens when you are just 7 weeks post-conception. It explains that if all the directions are done exactly as described, the test is 95% accurate.

All this is done with a finger prick amount of blood that is sent away to be analyzed. The initial pregnancy test kit is only $24.95 which seems pretty reasonable but of course this is a separate charge for the DNA testing by the laboratory. They state the cost for that could be $265- 330.

I guess that if you are that anxious to find out if your baby is a boy or girl and you have the money then go for it. I guess I just feel that is a personal choice and it does say if the test is wrong, they will refund your payment for the test in full except for the shipping. That seems fair to me.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
