Youtube some history vid's its chalk full of info.....basically the U.S. wanted to stear clear of any wars especially foreign conflict, the general populas when they began the opinion polls stated that if it came to war in Europe they wanted to remain out of it...Basically the U.S. was so rapped up in their foreign policies of Isolationism the furthest extent of their actions to prevent war was to quarantine certain trade goods and raise tarriffs on imports....The United States simply didn't want to be involved in anymore of "Europe's" problems.
It wasn't our continent. Had we known the French and the English couldn't handle business on their own continent(surprise surprise) even with the scads of weapons we sent, perhaps we would have intervened earlier. Oh well.
And I seem to remember American involvement in that conflict, seem to remember thousands of Americans buried on French Beaches. I also seem to remember almost single handedly destroying the Japanese empire. But what do I know.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
