How and where can I find suppliers of specialty food items?

Start with one, hey, whaitaminnit! Didn’t you take a small business course? Did they not tell you how to find stuff?

Anyway... go to google and start with "food suppliers" as a search and read EVERY page and title. Then search those websites and maybe contact some and start throwing?Around. If that doesn’t work, try searching "specialty food suppliers" or the specialty food you want to serve.

Don’t feel weird about going to a specialty foods, restaurant place and ask them how or where. Some small business owners are real friendly and just might offer you some advice. Google is an amazing tool and I have yet to search for something and not get answers.

2 I have a friend who used to work for an oriental foods distributor, I would think it would be more like that - each major group would have it's own supplier. I love going to shops that specialize in exotic or gourmet foods but you know what I buy? Things from small suppliers that I can't get in a regular store.

I'm not likely to buy anything that you can get from a wholesaler that sells everything under the sun. I want the stuff that is only sold in a few places because they hand make it and can only supply so much. I'll pay $18/pound for cheese that comes from one farm in Ireland.Do you have Cost Plus where you live?

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
