How can I get rid of a surgical scar?

During the normal course of healing, scars thicken and become red and hard for the first three months. Over the next nine months, the scars gradually soften and turn flesh colored. After a year, good scars are not particularly eye-catching from a normal speaking distance.

Steroid injections and laser treatments can help surgical scars mature, as can massage, pressure garments, vitamin E and other creams, and silicone and hydrogel (water-based) sheeting or topical salicylic acid or silicone gels. Most surgeons do not find these useful. But because they are harmless, many people feel they are better than nothing.

Cryotherapy, or freezing of the scar, may help bad scars. Interestingly, covering scars with paper tape seems to improve them. We don't know why this happens, but patients may benefit if they can tolerate six months of taping.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
