When you uncheck the webcam feature in options it doesn't allow others to see you have a webcam but you still see the icon just in case you want to invite others to webcam and them not invite you. As far as I know there is no way to get rid of the icon that you see. More.
I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
