How can the church forbid drum -set as part of the instrument for worship in the church?

I think it is up to each congregation what kind of music best suits the style of music that is most comfortable for the particular congregation. I love Christian rock but I also love beautiful choral music, and wonderful organ music. To each they's own I would say.

The type of instruments that churches use in their worship services is left totally up to the discretion of the minister and that is largely a reflection of his conservative or liberal mindset. In the case of the former I know of one church that allows no instruments at all,not even a piano in their chutrch. In the case of the latter,I know of another church that hires professional rock musicians to perform every week during their services.

Although the Bible does not record the invention of drums,it does teach that the next best thing should definitely be used:Psalm 150:5 (New King James Version) Praise Praise m with clashing cymbals! QUOTE THAT TO THOSE OLD FASHIONED MINISTERS WHO DON'T ALLOW DRUMS IN THEIR CHURCHES!

By all means, I encourage everyone to take this advice and go to services with "rock music" in them, and you'll see that FOT's comment is lacking any foundation in empirical observations. I don't think I've ever been to a church that didn't have drums, plus I've been to a lot of so-called "carnal" rock concerts (punk rock actually, so SUPER carnal by your reasoning), and can say from years of experience that there is not one iota of truth in this statement whatsoever. The worship of God is not limited by the personal preferences and biases of one single believer.

It is an experience that is unrestrained by all borders cultural, denominational, and musical. God is in electric guitars, turntables, and drums as well as harps, lyres, and voices, and far be it for us to limit the diversity that exists in worshiping him.It should instead be celebrated. Let's please throw away antiquated traditions based on cultural preferences and move towards a real understanding of what worship is.

The reason some churches do not allow the drum is because it is not listed as an instrument used in worship in the Bible. Also if you study worship and music you will see that the drum is an instrument that can produce very carnal worship. Just look at any worship service with 'rock' in it - it will look like you are attending a rock concert rather than a worship service.

Some may say - people can worship how they want, but in all things we have to look to the LORD for what He says and what would be acceptable to I don't think us worshiping the way people worship with drum-enhanced music dancing and moving like we're in a club is acceptable to And for those who want to disagree, we'll see how worship is done and how it is to be done when the King of Kings and Lord of Lords tells us how.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
