I don't hate George Bush and I would vote for him again over all the candidates this year.
A. It helps, but it's not the only thing... B. You give no actual example that is comparable...all the ones you give are all pretty different from the current situation... except for maybe FDR and Truman... most of what you're talking about isn't the same situation... Washington and Grant, as you say weren't in the same situation... the civil war was TOTALLY different in almost every way... the 1st gulf war was nothing compared to bin laden... Wilson had NO heroic angle, as you say *****FDR and Truman WON the war and WON re-election based on their actions...pearl harbor and the war to avenge it is the only thing that's close... and they didn't lose one election...**** you just rattle off mostly random points in history that have little to do with the Obama/bin Laden situation... and then act like it does mean something...
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
