2 Scoliosis is a condition, not a disease. It may be caused by many things, genetic disposition, nutrition, trauma, and osteoporosis associated with aging. Ask your physician which one was the likely cause of your scoliosis, although it sounds like, as you suspect, the later.
Good luck.
3 Oops, I did not mention that I was working as a physical therapist asst. (home care) at the time I began to notice the scoliosis. I thought it was being aggravated by the twisting motion I made several times a day to reach for charts and equipment in the passenger seat of my car.
Since I have retired, I've done some reading on the Internet. Exercise definitely helps, especially rotating to the left, seated. I also learned that scoliosis is a neurological condition, and the rotation/curvature is an effect.
This explained something that had been a mystery to me for many years: I would become aware that I was tilting my head to the left to look at my computer screen, or if I was reading a book, I would tilt both my head and the book. I had no idea why, since I could read just as well with my head and the book straight. Of course, there must be some osteoporosis making things worse, but I am still able to walk without a device, unless it is a long way, and then I use a 4-wheel walker.
Thank you folks for your interest and helpful comments.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
