How did the "Highland Clearances" differ from the "Lowland Clearances" in Scotland?

You would need some money for a start and to get a job. Social housing is in short supply everywhere even in big cities like Manchester or Glasgow, so think how difficult it may be to gain such housing in a small town or village in the Scottish highlands. You sound like you are just running away from your problems or your own self?

I wish you luck in your endeavours and hope it all works out for you wether you stay in Manchester or move to the Scottish Highlands, I would recommend Oban or Inverness or such towns as they still have a semblance of modern amenities in them like supermarkets and the like.

If you spoke to the many lonely people who live in isolated parts of Scotland you would be less keen on a move.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
