How do BOSE Acoustimass speakers and home theater systems really compare to high quality speakers like Polk Audio?

Bose has an outstanding marketing department and is easy to set up. I personally and many others on any audiophile site warn most people to stay away from their Acoustimass systems and their direct reflecting speakers,(the outdoor speakers are okay if a little expensive). They are regarded as overpriced and as having poor performance in the high and low audio range, emphasizing the mid range.

There are many speakers costing a third of the price with better performance. Take the time to do your own research online via audioholics.com, avsforum.com, or any other audio forum. "No highs, No lows, must be Bose."

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
