How do Cats and Dogs know which is cat food and which is dog food?

They don't know. They'll eat whatever you put down in front of them as long as it smells appealing.

This is funny, because they really don't know. That being said, it is my experience that cats are a bit more finnicky than dogs. It just depends on what it is.

Dogs will eat anything. For example, my dog, Mr. Tibbs, loves, loves, loves fish! Especially salmon and halibut!
