How do Compact Discs Work?

How compact discs work seems to be very complex. A music signal is recorded onto the compact disc using binary numbers, which are numbers containing only ones and zeros. The device playing the cd reconstructs the binary numbers into sound and sends the sound to the speakers to be reproduced and enjoyed by the listener.
