How do I access the Internet on a networked PC via my laptop internet connection?

How do I access the Internet on a networked PC via my laptop internet connection I connect to the internet from my laptop (Vista Home Premium) using a usb device and antenna which picks up a wireless signal from an unsecured network owned by a neighbour - yes, I have permission. I have the laptop connected to my PC (Win 2000) via ethernet crossover cable. The laptop can read and write to the PC but not vice versa.

Get a wireless card for your pc For just a few bucks, you can connect to the wireless network directly on you pc. Get a wireless card, plug it into your pc and you are connected without having to go through your laptop. I don’t know how you would do this with a crossover cable unless you set your laptop up as a server and use a regular cable to your pc.

The problem there is your laptop is tied up as a server. For 25 bucks you can install a pci card adapter and your problem is solved. tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools... Then you can be on both computers at the same time.

1 You simply need to build a bridge from laptop to pc...the laptop MUST BE BRIDGED AS THE SERVER....built in both systems are the applications needed to create a home network.......Just remember the laptop must always be on for the pc to connect to the net...and that the laptop must BE A SERVER. HAVE FUN! And, by the way.......any unsecured wireless connection....One does not permisssion: But it is nice to have it especially if they decide to go with a password lock, and are then kind enough to give you the key.Blessings.........Annlee .

2 Thanks for replies. I cannot use a wireless card in the PC because the signal is so weak I had to purchase an exterior antenna 15db and cable which cost over 100 euros (nearly 200 us$). I cannot afford to buy second antenna.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
