VacuumVacuum the pleated shades in a horizontal movement, using the brush attachment that comes with the vacuum sweeper. Pull out the caps that hold the pleated shades in place to remove the shade. Turn the shade over so the back is facing you.
Rehang the shade in this position, and re-insert the caps. Vacuum this side of the pleated shade. Remove StainsRemove stains and odors by adding 1 part vinegar and 1 part water to a spray bottle.
Close the bottle, and swish the liquid to mix it. Place a hand towel on the backside of the slats, and hold it there while you spray to prevent liquid from dripping on the other side. Gently mist the shade.
Put the bottle and hand towel to the side, and wipe the shade slats off with a microfiber cloth. Repeat for all the slats. Wash With SoapClean the pleated shades with a 20-part water and 1-part mild soap mixture if the shades do not have any stains or smoke odors and only need dust and dirt removal.
Use a sponge, and hold a hand towel on the backside ... more.
