This may seems a bit long but try this. Try giving them good reasons to why you need to wear it and that wearing it doesn't affect how you do in school. Also tell them it will make you feel like a better person and better about yourself.
Good Luck!
8th grade, good year but it was awkward for me (First year of high school) anyway I'm going into 9th now. I began wearing makeup around late September in 8th grade, and it was very minimal. As you seem to be wearing makeup simply for your own gain (Confidence!) that is the most important, as long as your doing it for yourself.
BUT I would ask your mum if you could wear lip gloss or mascara, don't ask to wear, foundation, powder, eyeliner, lipstick, lip liner, lip gloss, primer, eyeshadow, and the list goes on. Stick to one or two products. Compromise with her, ask if you can wear just a little mascara and say it is to help your self-esteem.
People with higher self-esteem and confidence tend to do better in school and other areas of life. If all else fails, understand that your mum loves you and ect and know makeup isn't the only thing in the world. Honestly some girls in my school are really "popular" and don't wear any makeup, they have wonderful personalities they are always so bubbly, positive, kind, down to earth, and have confidence.
Best of luck, take care <3.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
