How do I get my dog to stop nipping?

I have 2 chihuahuas. Both were well behaved. All of a sudden, the three year old has started nipping the pants of my daughter and visitors to the house.

She never did this before. The other dog (10 years old) doesn't do it. How do I get the younger one to stop her behavior?

Squirt bottle or penny can Take an empty aluminum can and put about 25-30 pennies in it and seal it up. When the dog goes to bite at someone yell "NO" and throw the can next to the dog. Don't hit the dog with the can.It is very noisy and will scare the crap out of her.

It's all about a need for attention The youngster needs you to pay more attention. You're going to have to tell her NO, when she does this. A tap on the nose is helpful to get her attention.

Kind of standard dog training. You better reward when she doesn't nip too. But she probably just wants you to pay more attention to her - have things gotten busier around the house lately?

What I've been trained to do... My family used to raise guide dogs, so of course, it's absolutely wrong for them to nip! An effective method (I've found) is that when she nips, recoil the appendage she nipped, and loudly (and suddenly) say "Ow! No bite!"
