How do I keep my tile floors and grout clean?

I recently bought an old house and the tile and grout look extremely dingy. What is the best way to clean them, and keep them clean? Should I do it myself or should I hire a professional.

And if so, can anyone recommend someone in the Bradenton, Florida area? Asked by March2300 34 months ago Similar questions: tile floors grout clean Home > Home Improvement.

Grout Grout is such a pain isn’t it..... I have used a solution of Baking soda and water....with a toothbrush but it only gets some of the dirt up. The best thing to do is redo the grout and then SEAL it. The sealer seems to keep the grout looking like it's natural color for much longer. My bathroom needs to be done right now and I was just starting to think about this.

I might try to do it myself first and if that small area doesn't go well then I might need to call my tile guy. You should never clean the grout with a cleaner. That's what my tile guy said.

Just water. Chemicals turn the color quicker. Good Luck!

Can't If the tile or grout are even slightly porous and unsealed, you usually can't get the gunk back out. You can try some aggressive cleaners like Lysol or ammonia and scrub scrub scrub with a high-pressure power washer, just in case it's just dirt trapped in floor wax. But more likely its dirt and mold that are well worked into floor. No solution for that short of tear up and replace.

1 Good luck, I haven't had any! At this point I am just waiting for all the grout to get to be the same dingy gray color - I've tried everything. Even using bleach and a toothbrush.

Nothing seems to work. I'm curious to see the answers you get.

2 This stuff works: X-14http://www.x14brand.com/products/mold-mildew-stain-remover/Use rubber gloves; spray it on; leave it alone; then after a prescribed period, wash it off with soap and water. BUT, it smells highly toxic. We use in our bathroom when we can ventilate the bathroom for a couple hours.

I can't see using it on tile floors in a kitchen.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
