How do I keep the Internet Explorer "command bar" (at the top of webpages) from disappearing?

When you open a website, there's a "command bar" at the top of the page with the web-address, "File", "Tools", Refresh, Close, etc. I accidentally pressed something, which made the entire command bar "hide" unless I put my cursor over it. Also, the "File" menu disappeared from the command bar as well. So, for instance, I cannot access "Internet Options" under "Tools".

Press F11 Press F11 should fix it. I believe it is like a "full screen" mode which automatically hides everything so you can see more of the web page :) .

Right Click.. Right click an empty area of the toolbars, and put a checkmark, next to "menu bar". When you see the items that you wanted back, file, edit etc. Then right click the toolbar area again, and put a checkmark next to "lock the toolbars".. Good Luck..

Click "Tools" And then "Menu Bar". At least that worked for me - I have Internet Explorer 7.

1 BirgittaH, regarding your answer "Click "Tools"":No, as the 2nd part of my question states, the "File" menu has disappeared as well! So there's no "Tools"! Thanks anyway.

Hope someone can help figure this out! .

On my browser "tools" is not under "file" but to the right of the screen. If you put your cursor so that the bar appears, can you right-click on the bar? If you can you should see "menu bar" at the top of the drop-down list.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
