The file appenders have no option to lazily create the log files - the setFile method automatically creates the file if it doesn't already exist: ostream = new FileOutputStream(fileName, append).
The file appenders have no option to lazily create the log files - the setFile method automatically creates the file if it doesn't already exist: ostream = new FileOutputStream(fileName, append); You'll have to extend the appender and overwrite the file initialisation code yourself to get the behaviour you're after.
I appreciate this answer is somewhat late, but I've been fighting Log4j too much recently to leave questions hanging :-) – Andy Nov 8 '10 at 15:38 I'll just have to bite that bullet then ... – Mirvnillith Nov 15 '10 at 13:49.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
