A multitude of gene identifiers can be used to search the GenomeCube interface, e.g. Gene symbol, GeneID, Unigene cluster ID as well as various GenBank Accession IDs. In case you want to use an alias you have to determine the official gene symbol e.g. Entrez Gene or GeneOntology . To identify the gene symbol based on a protein name you may have to check at UniProt.
With regard to Clone Names it is possible to search for imaGenes Clone IDs, for IMAGE IDs and for different notations corresponding to genomic clones as applied in public databases (e.g. RP23-225D6). More.
