How do I stop my rabbit from pooping on the couch when he is litter box trained?

This seems far too simple to me, but in my house it would be a matter of "you are not allowed on the couch. " If the animal cannot somehow be brought in touch with this rule, then perhaps keeping the animal caged is the answer. My theory always stands that if I cannot get away with leaving the seat up in the bathroom, then the animals cannot get away with breaking the rules either.

Animals aren't as dumb as people make them out to be. Any more than most women make men out to be. All animals can be trained.

;).

Keep it off the couch.... .... .... .... .... .... .... .... .... ....

Rabbits are smell sensative and neat freaks. If it is smelling the urine on the couch they it will think it is okay to pee there. Try to mask the smell somehow.

Double check that there are no poop nearby as well.

Yea, but, sometimes you can't keep it off the couch. I would just recommend to spray it with a spray bottle when it goes on the couch or teach it the "down" command.

Spray pepper spray on the couch. It may smell, but the rabbit will start understanding it is not a good place to mark. Or, try getting him more attracted to it.

Maybe you just need to look out of the corner of your eye and when he starts going for the couch grab him and put him in the litter box or put a litter box on the couch.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
