How do I use ICC timestamp or FICS timeseal with XBoard?

First, get the appropriate version of timestamp or timeseal for your machine from ftp.chessclub.com or ftp.freechess.org. Second, be sure that you can connect using XBoard without timestamp/timeseal. Third, be sure that you can connect using timestamp/timeseal without XBoard.

If you select an ICS from either the WinBoard Startup dialog or the Windows Start submenu that WinBoard installs, WinBoard automatically runs timestamp or timeseal if the ICS you chose is known to support it.
