It's as simple as 1 2 3. Normally, you just have to highlight a word then a simple menu will appear on top of the word. The menu includes options such as Dictionary, Search, Note, and Depending on the ebook reader that you use, normally you can see the search option.
Sometimes it would say, Search Wikipedia on it. For iBooks, when you highlight a word, you can see 4 options. These options include Dictionary, Note, Search.
If you want to know the meaning of the word or anything for that matter you can tap on the Dictionary option. You can tap ghlight just to mark it with a color, just light your highlighter pen. Notes, when you want to add notes to that word.
