You don't need any special tools. Just take a washcloth or other suitable rag and slowly work it under the window crank and it'll force the retaining clip up and then you can remove it with a small flat tip screwdriver. Then you remove all of the Phillips head screws from the arm rest and the door handle.
You can then carefully pry the door panel loose taking care not to rush it as you'll damage the board. After you remove the panel, you'll need to roll the window down and then remove the three screws in the door latch. After you do that, you can lower the latch inside the door and access the two 10mm nuts that hold the outside handle on.It's really a simple job with the key being taking you time and just be patient.
I did this just a few weeks ago and the new handle works great. Be sure to put the plastic vapor barrier back on too. I forgot to mention that, but if you peel it off slowly, it will go back in place when you're ready.
Also take a moment to make sure all of your plastic fasteners are lined up so you can pop the door panel back in place. Answer Use a special tool, available cheap from the parts store, and remove the inside door handles then all of the screws you can find. Then with another special tool, remove the retainers from around the sides and bottom of the trim pad and raise up on the pad to take it off.
There are bolts to remove the outside door handle.
