The papers I have left to do call for APA format, though I have done some in MLA. I typically cite the sources that Askvillers provide links to, but how do I cite something that I didn't find in a given source but is in an Askville answer? Do I have to let my teacher know I'm using Askville or could I call it personal communication, which is not in the bibliography, but is cited within the paper?
Do I have to find out the Askviller's name to do that? I'd rather not let them know I'm asking my questions directly to an online community, but Askville has been a good starting point for my papers. Do I have to leave information out of my paper if I can't find it in the links provided or other reputable source?

APA Personal communication would work, but I'd tend to use the websites that people send links to you for. If you do use the PC label, you need to know their name. If you PM the people who you want to use, I'm sure they'd be helpful.
You can use websites, there are ways for citing them, but I wouldn't count them on my required number of "official" resources unless they're the offical website for something... like the AA website if your paper was on AA. Make sure you cover your butt for the required, and then use the online stuff as extra. If you can't find a source, I wouldn't put information in.
Here's the website I use to do APA. I can never remember the punctuation... Sources: owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/560/01/ avvoo_SUCHawitch! 4 I was just thinking about the instruction: "If the author's name is not available, provide the screen name. "This could lead to some interesting citations, I was particularly thinking of "The King of Random Crap" as a source.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
