I'm Amelia and I'm going to show you how to create a curly updo for prom hair. First you want to make sure your hair is clean and dry, spray it with a thermal protectant, and then curl your entire head. Then you're going to want to take a little bit of wax, or a shine product and you don't want to brush through the curls, and what I like to do is basically put everything in a ponytail and go from there, I find that to be the easiest way to start.

So, as you see I've got this part of the hair in a ponytail and this is all still out. So, what you do with the part that's in the ponytail, now you just want to create some barrel waves, or barrel curls, and those are just smooth, large curls. So, you just kind of wrap them around your finger, and again I've got, I've still got smoothing products on my hand, so we just wrap that around your finger, and then pin it.
