There are plenty of good reasons to suspect Gods are man made. The problem lies with how good you are at reasoning. Just like when we believed the earth was flat and circular like a coin, there was evidence that certainly pointed towards a flat earth, it is only with the additional evidence that we can know the earth is not flat.
When it comes to seeing evidence for Gods, those people are the flat earthers. That is why the more educated have a harder time believing Gods exist. If you don't understand how nature works, it certainly can "appear" to be the work of magical super beings.
That's how humans invented the concept of Gods/Goddesses in the first place. So even if you wanted to allow for the possibility of these magical super beings, we certainly have enough evidence to know humans are completely oblivious to the actual Gods/Goddesses that might exist. Humans took it upon themselves to define everything about these Beings, which of course leads to lots of contradictions in who they are or what they want.
So everything is assumed. Gods are good. Assumed.
Gods offer a blissful afterlife. Assumed. God is Love.
Assumed. Gods care. Assumed.
With no evidence of support, there is nothing that can be known even if these magical super Beings actually exist, making the question of existence not really that important. Put into perspective, lets say a billion dollars exists with your name on it, the only problem is it is sitting in a galaxy far, far away. Does the existence of your billion dollars really matter?
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
