Well, they say if you haven't used something in a year then it's "safe" to get rid of it. Look through your closet--have you worn that college tshirt lately? No?
Time to Goodwill it! Those VHS tapes--you don't even have a player for them anymore--even if it's your favorite movie--get rid of them! There is a show that used to be on with a guy who helped people get rid of stuff.
He helped them to realize that even if dead Aunt Sarah gave you this lovely ceramic angel with golden wings--to get rid of it doesn't mean you love Aunt Sarah any less. You love her with or without the angel, and if you don't like and just keep it in a box in the attic--get rid of it to someone who might like it and will display it in their home. It's hard, as we connect memories with some of our belongings.
I've been donating a lot of the antique things my mom has given me to our local historical society--I really am not into all the clutter all over anymore and that way others can appreciate them in a nice setting. I value them, but recognize that I am not able to appreciate them when I keep them stored away. No need to really through something "good" away, though--donate it or list on Craig's list or Ebay.

Yes, but those "extras" are what make life special sometimes.
You either value something or you don't. There is no process for the "determination". Sometimes you sound really out there.

True peace is found in the middle of chaos. But only for the brave. The Zensunni way is to wait, without purpose, in the state of highest tension.
Ask that of a hoarder and they'll say everything has value, making it impossible for them to discard or give away even the most worthless and broken items.
As I said, a hoarder thinks everything has value, they can not determine the difference between junk and valuable items. They are literally incapable of making that determination.
Junk Yard Organ The Junk Yard Organ is made of discarded bottles, an old vacuum-cleaner motor, sections of inner tubing, and other objects from a junk yard. Individual notes are sounded by air from the cleaner motor blowing across small holes in the caps of bottles tuned by partly filling them with water. Ashbory bass The Ashbory bass is an 18-inch scale fretless electric bass with silicon rubber strings.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
