Luau or Hawaiian is a popular party theme. It might be difficult to make it to Hawaii for a vacation this year, but you can throw a luau party and experience a little slice of the Hawaiian vacation experience at home. Create some palm trees.
If you have any vertical columns turn them into palm trees. Wrap them in brown paper. Attach some Palm fronds, either fake or real at the top.
Attach a couple brown balloons to look like coconuts. If you want to do this quick you can buy fake palm trees from the luau section of most party supply stores that hang from the ceiling like the one in the picture. Suggest a Hawaiian beach.
Trigger memories of luau's attended on Hawaiian beach vacations. Bring in a sandbox and wading pool for the kids. Do a simple mural on paper of water going out to the horizon with the sun setting and palm trees in the foreground.
