Change your perspective of said thing. (A perspective is what got you attached in the first place.) Example: Do you love a pogo stick too much? Change your perspective on pogo sticks!
I don't pogo anymore because it is a childish toy. I can also jump pretty high using my mattress instead, and it's a lot safer! Hurray for the change in perspective.
It is very difficult to do. Easy to say, hard to do. It takes a certain personality in order to withdraw emotionally from everything.
A cold heart as it were. Since we are constantly bombarded by emotional events world wide, in our own towns and in our own lives, withdrawing is next to impossible. Those that do are seen as cold and inhuman.
Being emotionally involved is a human response, a learned human response, and as such, and again, something that is hard to repress.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
