How do you get one of your questions in the "Featured Questions" section?

Everyone - great question! We change the "point" of the 'featured' section every now and then. Right now, Mahalo staff is looking for sensational, though-provoking, timely questions.

We're trying to make that section have about 3-5 INSANELY INTERESTING questions. I capitalized those words because that's the "pitch" I was given for that section ;-) What's the best way to get your question featured? If your question meets the following criteria, it's probably ripe for top-row pickings: *Can my question get 15 answers in a day?

*Is this question controversial enough to spark a debate within and outside the community? *Will people want to tweet my question? Will people then re-tweet my question?

*Would people "share" this question on Facebook? *Will people feel *compelled* to click and answer your question? *BONUS POINTS For culturally relevant questions - "Does Tiger Woods owe the public an apology" - posted on the day of his press conference."Are you offended by Elton John saying that Jesus was a 'super-intelligent' gay man" - in response to Elton's interview in Parade Magazine.

If you'd like a question featured make sure to send its URL my way to corey (at) mahalo. Com - but I ask that you please don't be offended if your question is not featured following your email. The entire editorial team decides which questions to feature (consider it a 'voting process ;-) Be compelling.

Be sensational. Stir the pot. Go forth and conquer!

Best, Corey Mac Community Manager.

The best way to get one of your questions up in the 'Featured Questions" section is to be a Mahalo Office staff member but we as regular users in every belt level can be up there as well. The featured questions are picked by the staff and the decide which ones will be up there. I have seen every type of question up there and from every level of user.

I have even seen anonymous questions up there. One thing has proven true for me here at Mahalo Answers.. the staff like to hear from us. So if you have a question that needs to be noticed and you think it would be a great featured question then sending the link and a description to the staff would be a great way to let them know how you feel.

The easiest answer to that would be "Ask a question that the staff feels compelled to put in the featured questions section. " Through my short tenure here, I have noticed the following questions get featured: Those that are embedded in some top Mahalo Pages. These are normally offered a high tip, as the staff wants the best answers Mahalo can give.

Those that users submit with a high tip, as they want to give the questioner the biggest bang for their buck (nice of them, you have to admit). Those that will probably generate a lot of hits--to capitalize on their potential revenue, a good answer must be provided. The staff will subsidize (or just increase) the tip and feature it so everyone benefits.

Anything uniquely interesting that deserves attention (these questions are sometimes noticed by regular Mahoians first and dubbed interesting prior to getting sent to the big leagues). Thus, if you want to get your questioned featured, you can ask something uniquely interesting, something that will generate a lot of hits, or add a large tip. Even these rules don't apply all the time, because who knows how often or when the staff are watching. So, some questions that meet some or most of the above criteria may not get featured in some instances.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
