You have searched for hours for that perfect pair of pants. You've finally found them at a price you can afford, but when you discover they are too long the excitement quickly fades. Not only do they need to be hemmed, but you don't even own a sewing machine.
All is not lost. You can hem pants quickly and easily without sewing a stitch. Measure your inseam by measuring the length of the leg from the crotch to the ankle, or the point on the leg where you want your pants to fall.
This is best accomplished by asking a friend to measure the length of your leg while you stand naturally. Another option is to measure the inseam on a pair of pants that fits perfectly in length. Mark the length of the inseam onto the new pants.
Pin the legs at this length and try them on. Differences in material will cause them to hang differently. You may need to alter the inseam slightly to get a good fit.
Iron the cuff of the pants to get a good straight crease where the pant leg should fall. Trim anything ... more.
