By discipline and reward. When your pet does the trick correctly, celebrate and praise the pet and give it a reward and pet him nicely (don't always give them a treat! ).

The pet will soon understand that reward comes with doing what you want. When the pet does it wrong, NEVER hit them or hurt it in any way.
