How do you make a twice baked potatoes?

Twice Baked Potatoes I don't know if there is a specific recipe anywhere, but the way I've always done it, learned from relatives, etc. Is: Bake the potatoes until done. Cut in half and scoop out the white inside meat of the potato. Mash and add whatever you want to add, be it butter, salt & pepper, cheese, garlic, or something that your family especially likes.

Spoon this mixture back inside the scooped out shell/skin of the potatoes. Return to the oven and bake until you like the appearance of the finished product, and they are hot throughout. Everyone in my family loves potatoes this way.

Happy cooking! I answered this in the other question, but wasn't sure if both would be looked at, so I answered in again. Sources: experience .

There are two ways to do this, 1. Bake whole until done (or microwave) or 2. Cut in half and bake if you choose #2.

Prepare the pan with parchment and spray, bake cut side down. This is much faster than the whole method. #1.

Use this method when you have the time. With both methods, you would either cut in half and scoop out middle (leave a margin of flesh on the perimeter) Return shells to oven to crisp a bit (making them a little more ridged helps them stand up) With the scooped flesh, whip, add usually cheese, butter, and anything else you may like (sauted peppers and onions, bacon, fresh herbs, etc). Fill piping bag (or use a spoon), fit bag with large star tip.

Fill the cavities with the whipped mixture, return to oven to brown the tops, serve. Sounds complicated but once you are use to it, it is really simple. Enjoy!.

My recipe I start by buying big baking potatoes and I grease the outside and bake them until they are very soft inside. Then I cool them a bit and cut them in half. I scoop out the insides and put them in a bowl.

I mix in butter, sour cream, green onion tops if I don't have chives, salt and pepper. Stir it up good. Then I replace the mixture of the insides into each potato shell, top with cheese and reheat in a low oven until they are warmed all the way through. As to the mixture you create, put in whatever you would like to have on a baked potato.

If you like chili and cheese add chili and top with cheese. If you like broccoli, steam some finely chopped broccoli to the mix. These also reheat in the microwave very well.
